Theocracy Emerging in the middle of April last year, and still in a very embryonic phase, Victor (guitar) and Isaque (drums) spent two months ceaselessly rehearsing but came to the conclusion that on their own they would not be able to achieve anything. come about? Isaque ( ISQ ) - I knew Sérgio who is the current drummer and proposed that since I was experienced with vocals, and so it was... CN - Were there any more alterations to be made or is this the current make-up of the band? ISQ - No, I'm the Vocals, Sérgio is on Drums, Victor on Solo Guitar, André on Rhythm Guitar, and on Bass we have Daniel |
CN - Why the name Theocracy? ISQ - In Portuguese Theocracy is Teocracia, which is the name of the Government of God, which is what all of us want, the government of God here on this earth. CN - What are you main musical influences? ISQ - A little of everything, which is to say we can be associated with Creed, we can be characterized by post-Grunge, alternative-rock, it's a little of everything. |
| CN - What are your objectives? ISQ - Well, one step is to evangelize on schools then, only God knows. CN - What are your expectations? ISQ - To live in harmony each day, and wait on God and His time, He will open doors. CN - To record albums? ISQ- When the leadership thinks it the right time, we would be available. CN - Do you think that Theocracy will be able to open doors within the Christian community? ISQ- Yes, I think that we are to be pioneers in this type of music here inside the church because there outside there this style is part of everyday life. We have also started to sing in English, this style of music perhaps sounds aggressive at first, we are breaking barriers. |
CN - What do feel when you here youth singing your
music? ISQ - The other day, before beginning a gig I was walking past some people on the street and they began to sing "Quero ver" right then I didn't know if they were joking with me or they were being serious, because I'm not yet used to these kind of things, but it is an enormous satisfaction to see youth at the front of the stage singing our music. CN - Where do you usually perform? ISQ - Presently we are playing at the DNJ (National Youth Department) special meetings .
