1. A NEW LIFE HAS BEGUN
Since the moment that you gave your
life to Jesus, He became your Lord and Saviour. Lord, because
he starts to govern your life, and Saviour, because he saved you.
It is written:
"Therefore if any man be in
Christ, he is a new creation: old things have passed away; behold,
all things become new." (II Corinthians 5:17)
Now that you are of Christ, you are
a new creation, you are a new person, the past is the past. You
have been born again, for a new life of victory and success in
Jesus.

2.
NEVER LOOK BACK
Jesus said: "No man,
having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for
the kingdom of God". (Luke 9:62) "But he that shall endure unto
the end, the same shall be saved.". (Matthew 24:13).
Just because you accepted Jesus and received Eternal life, it
doesn’t mean that you can go back to your old life and do the
wrong things that you used to do. It means that, now, you have
started to follow Jesus and you should continue until the end;
you should put your trust in Jesus, and do the best you know of
the Word of God.

|
3. BECOME A MEMBER OF A
CHURCH
Become a member of a church where
they talk about Jesus as being the only Lord and Saviour. Attend
the church to learn the Word of God and do what is written there,
so that you can then serve God in that church.
" Not forsaking the assembling
of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting
one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching".
(Hebrews 10:25)
|
|
4. BE BAPTIZED IN WATERS
AND IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
You should be baptized in waters,
as soon as possible, with a declaration of your faith in Jesus,
and that you are willing to follow him all the days of your life.
Baptism does not save you. Baptism is a sign of what happened
when you received Jesus; you were buried, died to your old ways,
and resurrected to a new life with Jesus.
Receive, also, the baptism in the
Holy Spirit, because it is the power of God for your personal
life, and for you to talk about Jesus, pray for the sick and do
the work of God. To do this, you can hear a tape on the subject,
so that your faith can grow and you will be ready to receive.
|
|
5. HAVE A PRAYER LIFE
Pray everyday. To pray is to talk
with God. As you start to pray everyday, and meditate on the
Word of God, your spirit develops and you grow and have good communion
with God.
"Ask, and it shall be given
you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto
you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh
findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.". (Matthew
7:7-8)
HOW SHOULD YOU
PRAY?
You should pray to God the Farther, in the Name of Jesus.
"And in that day ye shall ask
me nothing… Whatsoever ye shall ask the father in my name, he
will give it you."... ( John 16:23)
Every time you pray, pray with faith
that God has heard you and he will always answer. Faith is believing
that you will receive the moment that you pray.
"What things soever ye desire,
when you pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have
them". (Mark 11:24)
Pray naturally, using your own words,
without rituals or repetitions, and without copying other people.
" But when ye pray, use not
vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they
shall be heard for their much speaking". (Matthew. 6:7)

6. READ THE BIBLE REGULARLY
The Bible is the Word of God. It
is where you get to know God and his will for your life. If you
know the Word of God, the devil cannot trick you, with sickness,
financial crisis, etc… because you know what is written:
" By his stripes ye were healed.."
"But my God shall supply all your needs…..." (I Peter 2:24; Philippians
4:19).
Futhermore, you will also grow Spiritually.
HOW TO READ THE
BIBLE
a) Start by reading the New Testament.
Start with the Gospels and then the Epistles.
b) As you read, ask yourself some
questions. For example: - What does this passage reveal about
the will of God for me? Is there an order that I should obey?
Is there a promise for my life? How can I apply these words in
my life?
c) Read the same verses over and
over again.
d) While you are reading, meditate,
so that the Word will enter your spirit.
e) Read with the condition that you
will practise what you read:
" Be ye doers of the word,
and not hearers only ..."(James 1:22)

7. BE FAITHFUL TO GOD WITH
YOUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS
When you gave your life to Jesus,
everything that God has became available to you, but it is up
to you to put everything that you own in Gods hands. When you
take your Tithes and Offering to the house of God, you are telling
God that he is the Lord of your life, as well as your finances,
and that he is your source.
"So is the kingdom of God,
as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep,
and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up,
he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself,
first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the
ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth
in the sickle, because the harvest is come" (Mark 4:26-29).
The Kingdom of God is not based on
miracles, but based on sowing first to receive afterwards. Your
finances are like seeds, that when you sow in the Kingdom of God,
(In the church where you serve God); he will multiply your finances,
so that the Gospel can go throughout the whole world, and also
to supply all your needs.
The more you sow, the more you will
reap, but the less you sow, the less you will reap.
"But this I say, He which soweth
sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully
shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth
in his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly, or of necessity:
for God loveth a cheerful giver." (II Corinthians 9: 6-7).
Never give God your leftovers, but
always give God your best. In your finances, as well as in other
areas of your life.
WHAT ARE TITHES?
Tithes are 10% of all your income.
" Bring ye all the tithes into
the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove
me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you
the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there
shall not be room enough to receive it." (Malachi 3:10)
WHY DOES GOD TELL
US TO BRING OUR TITHES TO HIS HOUSE?
1- So that there may be meat in the
house of God.
2- So that the work of God can go
on through the world.
3- So that God can bless you back.
WHAT IS AN OFFERING?
An offering is everything else besides
tithes that we sow regularly. It can also be a Special Offering
that we sow at a special time and for any reason that is out of
the ordinary. For example: New buildings, musical instruments,
etc.

8.
EMOTIONS VERSUS FAITH
" For we walk by faith and not by sight"...(II Corinthians
5:7)
Never let yourself get
dragged down by emotions. You have to learn more and more to
walk by faith, by the word of God. This is, believing in what
the Word of God says, even if all of your feelings are telling
you to the contrary.
Faith is believing in the Word of God and doing what God says.
For example: If you are sick, ask your Pastor to pray for you.
At that moment, believe that you receive your healing. You can
continue having the same symptoms, but walking by faith is believing
that you are healed when you don’t feel healed. It could take
one minute, one day, one week, but the symptoms will disappear,
and you will see your healing manifest itself. The same thing
can be said for finances, etc…

9. CHOICE OF FRIENDS
You certainly had friends before
giving your life to Jesus. Now that you follow Jesus, you should
spend time with people who also follow Jesus. Are you
going to leave your old friends? Tell them about Jesus and if
they, for one reason or another, don’t agree, then you will have
to put Jesus in first place, and not your friends.
" Blessed is the man that walketh
not in the councel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of
sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful." . (Psalms 1:1)
" I wrote unto you in an epistle
not to company with fonicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators
of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with
idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now
I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is
called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater,
or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such as one
no not to eat." . (I Corinthians 5:9-11)

|
10 BEING WORLDLY MINDED
OR MATERIALISTIC
" Know ye not that the friendship
of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be
a friend of the world is the enemy of God..." (James 4:4)
Satan is the prince of this world,
and he is the one who is preparing the world for the anti-christ,
and he is also trying to divert humanity away from God, through
legalism, atheism, religion, witchcraft, unkindness, adultery,
etc…
The Bible says that, when you gave
your life to Jesus, even though you live on this world, you no
longer belong to it. That means you shouldn’t live like the world
lives: full of confusion, bribery, illicit lives, schemes, lies,
adultery, infidelity, etc. Don’t follow the same direction, living
to please man, to keep up your appearance, to keep up your reputation
in the eyes of other people, etc. Occupy yourself in following
Jesus and doing what Jesus says, because very soon this world
will finish and so will all your works, but if you do what Jesus
says, you will live forever.

11. WITTNESS ABOUT JESUS
" …. Go ye into all the world,
and preach the Gospel to every creature.." (Mark 16:15)
" … And ye shall be witnesses
unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and
unto the uttermost part of the earth. " (Acts 1:8)
Witnessing means telling others what
we already know, or declaring a fact that we ourselves have tried
and seen.
Witnessing about Jesus is telling
your friends, family, etc, about what he did in your life. Witnessing
about Jesus is every Christian’s job.
HOW TO DO IT?
1- Mention scriptures that talk about
Salvation:
"For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life.".(John 3:16)
" Jesus said unto him, I am
the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me.". (John 14:6)
" But as many as received him,
to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them
that believe on his name." (John 1:12)
2- Don’t try to ‘convince’ people.
Your job is to speak the Word of God about Salvation- sow the
good seed.
3- It is the Holy Spirits job to
convince people.
4- It is the person’s job to receive
and listen.
5- Don’t argue with the person, trying
to force them to receive Jesus straight away. Let the seed grow.
One day it will give fruit.
6- Be wise, don’t talk about Jesus
in any old way, to anybody that is in your path, but let the occasion
be right to hold that conversation.
