Mission Africa 2002 Begins!

On Friday the 25th January the first group of 36 missionaries from Brazil arrive in Johannesburg, South Africa. The teams will be hosted in 3 main missionary camps in Beria, Maxixe and Khongoloti, Mozambique, for 3 months.

Intense one week missionary course

On arrival the missionaries will receive an intense one-week course teaching them the basics to survive three months in the missionary camps, at the administration in South Africa before departing to Moçambique.

The missionary course will cover all aspects of a missionary life from cooking, looking after the caravans, mounting the equipment for the Jesus film, mounting equipment for sleeping in tents, street evangelism, how to hold a new converts course, water baptism and Home groups. Each camp will include 2 caravans and a large tent, bathrooms and sound equipment for daily meetings.

Missionary program for 3 months

The goal of the missionary’s program is to evangelize specific areas, baptize the new converts and give them roots in the Christian doctrine.

 

 
The Jesus Film
Over three months the missionaries will reach thousands of people, covering over 15 districts. They will also support the local churches and work beside the local Pastors and leaders.

The missionaries will hold 60 evangelistic campaigns showing the life of Jesus on a 3 x 4 meter cinema screen.  They will hold 30 baptisms using portable swimming pools and give 30 new convert courses. The missionaries will reach the people through street evangelism and penetrate the youth holding football matches and sporting activities through out the week. They will visit hospitals ministering the love of God and travel on a weekly basis from village to village.

New International Missions Department ( Departamento Internacional de Missões)


To support this huge work of God a new International Department for missions has been established and over the past 6 months. Caravans, 4 x 4 Jeeps, mission camps, sound equipment, 200,000 leaflets, film projectors, food, generators, tents and many more things have been brought.
This huge investment will not only support this first group of thirty-six missionaries but also future volunteers.
